Your Financial Planning Questions Answered
A helpful guide to address some of the most common questions about navigating the world of finance while working with us at Woodruff Wealth Management.
What do you do?
We are a multi-generational financial planning and asset management team. As a family focused firm, we think of our clients as an extension of our family. We strive to provide the honesty and care you would expect of your family. On the asset management side, we hold different types of accounts our clients may have, i.e. brokerage accounts, IRA’s, etc. and help them choose the investments inside those accounts. This goes hand in hand with financial planning. We manage these accounts by helping our clients align their portfolio with their financial and personal goals. We help our clients by answering important questions and advising on the various paths they can take.
How are you different than other Financial Planners?
- In a time when financial jargon and buzzwords are the norm, we have a strong conviction to cut through all the smoke and mirrors by being upfront and transparent. We want to provide total clarity in who we are and what we do. We believe that our commitment to honesty allows us to build a deeper, more genuine relationship with our client. This allows us to create plans that are just as unique as the clients that we serve. We excel at what we do by helping people gain clarity on where they are and help them get where they want to go.
- Our dedication to transparency goes hand in hand with our exclusive Woodruff Goal Planning System (WGPS). This distinctive approach sets us apart, ensuring that our clients receive tailored solutions that are second to none. The WGPS isn’t just a process; it’s a beacon that guides us through a series of purposeful conversations and strategic actions. By delving deep into your circumstances, aspirations, and dreams, the WGPS allows us to craft financial strategies that resonate uniquely with you. It’s a signature methodology that underlines our commitment to your success.
- Our financial planners represent three different generations. With our multigenerational team, we bring a blend of fresh perspective and seasoned insights to help you navigate the complex world of finance. Not only does this allow for a different perspective about financial planning, but also ensure continuity of service, meaning you and your family never have to worry about finding another advisor again.
- Remote capabilities: Our expertise in virtual consultations ensures we can offer seamless, effective services no matter your location.
What does WGPS Stand For?
WGPS stands for the Woodruff Goal Planning System. It is the chain of conversations and actions that helps us better understand you, where you are, where you want to be, and how we can help you get there.
Who do you serve?
We have clients of every type. Having clients throughout the nation allows us to work with individuals, multi-generational families, trusts, farmers and rachers, landowners, executives, small business owners, mineral right owners, and retirees.
Do you have a minimum?
We typically gain new clients that come from referrals and our only real “requirement” is that our clients are likeable, coachable, disciplined, and whose values align with our own. Most of our clients fall in the $250,000-$5,000,000 dollar range, but we certainly have clients outside of that range as well.
What are your credentials?
Jim is both an Accredited Asset Management Specialist and Wealth Management Specialist with over 28 years’ experience serving our clients. Ferd has been serving our clients for the past 33 years. Their combined years of service provides invaluable experience on investments and financial planning. Riley is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. This is widely considered the gold standard in our industry. Auggie is also an Accredited Asset Management Specialist and is a candidate to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.
How do you get paid?
With the majority of our clients, we provide a fee-based cost structure where we bill on a percentage of the assets that we manage. Whether you work with us or someone else, we feel that this is the most honest way to go. We feel that long-term this is the best way to build a solid relationship with our clients and reinforces our number one rule: Always doing what is in your best interest.
What can I expect from my first meeting?
The first meeting allows us to get to know one another and really see if we will be a good fit for each other. There’s no pressure and no cost. As we talk, we’ll go through your questionnaire with you, ask further questions, and see how our team can help. We ask that for the initial meeting, you bring any sorts of financial statements and documents to help us be prepared and better understand your financial picture. Once our meeting is completed, and we decide we’re a good fit, then we will begin constructing a proposal.
How do I get started?
