About Ferd

Ferd joined Woodruff Wealth Management in 2023. Ferd brings about 33 years of experience in the investment industry to our team of financial planners. This longstanding experience allows Ferd to incorporate his unique perspective and vast knowledge into his client’s financial plans.

In Ferd’s younger years, he would attend school in Uvalde, Texas, and then spend his summers at his family ranch in Balmorhea, Texas. Upon graduating high school, Ferd began his undergraduate studies at Angelo State University, where he graduated with a degree in business. Shortly after graduating college, Ferd decided he wanted to focus on a career in finance. Ferd’s first financial services role started in the banking industry, which later led him to join a brokerage firm. After a couple of years at his first brokerage firm, Ferd enjoyed helping people with their finances so much that he eventually joined Raymond James in 1996 to start his own independent practice. For almost 33 years, Ferd ran a successful investment business until he ultimately merged his business with Woodruff Wealth Management. Ferd holds the Series 7, Series 9, Series 10, and Series 66 securities licenses, in addition to his life, health, and annuity insurance license.

Over the years, Ferd has been passionate about serving in the volunteer community. His proudest moments of community involvement were serving on the ASU Foundation and ASU Alumni Association board of directors. Ferd is also very grateful to be one of the founding members of the City of San Angelo Investment Oversight Committee, which is still in effect 30 years later.

When Ferd has free time, he loves spending time with his wife, Cindy, and family. He loves to spend time hunting, fishing, and anything that can get him outside.

To get to know Ferd and the rest of our team at Woodruff Wealth Management a little better, feel free to reach out to our office so we can schedule a virtual meeting or in-person appointment at one of our three locations.

2026 Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams

The 2026 Forbes ranking of America’s Best-In-State Wealth Management Teams, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. This ranking is based upon the period from 3/31/2024 to 3/31/2025 and was released on 01/07/2026. Advisor teams that are considered must have one advisor with a minimum of seven years of experience, have been in existence as a team for at least one year, have at least 5 team members, and have been nominated by their firm. The algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 12,787 team nominations, 6,149 advisor teams received the award based on thresholds. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Compensation provided for using the rating.
